Directs the operations, programs, and activities in a Medical/Surgical Care setting. Total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of each assigned patient on the med/surg unit. Plan, provide and document discharge planning, teaching and educates patients, family or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care. Assure that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel.
Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Special skills:
Ability to communicate effectively and ability to work compatibly as a team member with physicians and other staff members.
License required
Current Texas RN license, certification in BLS, NRP and ACLS required.
