MHS Announces Promotions and New Department Directors
Medina Healthcare System promotes staff to new positions
 
Medina Healthcare System CEO, Janice Simons, recently announced the promotion of two department directors.  Billie Bell, RN was promoted to the position of Vice President of Operations.  Ashley Lowe was promoted to Vice President of Clinic Operations.  “I am happy to announce these changes to our organization,” said Ms. Simons.  “Billie Bell has served as the Quality Director for three years, making significant improvements to patient care.  Ashely Lowe has done an excellent job in bringing many specialists to our clinics, while also directing the clinic operations in Hondo, Devine, and Castroville. ”  
 
Billie Bell is a registered nurse with 20 years of healthcare experience.  Early in her nursing career, she worked as a registered nurse at Medina Regional Hospital.  She returned to the system in 2014, as the Quality Director.  Billie received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and is currently completing graduate studies for a Master’s of Business Administration.  She lives in Hondo with her husband, Brian, and their son Chris.
 
Ashley Lowe completed her undergraduate degree in management and furthered her education with a Master’s of Business Administration and a Master’s of Healthcare Organizational Management from Texas Tech University.  She joined the team at Medina Healthcare System in 2012, as the Director of Business Development.  Ashley lives in Hondo with her husband, Adam, and their two daughters, Ava and Alex.
 
Medina Healthcare System also welcomes new directors to the following positions:
 
JoAnn Carroll recently joined the system as the Medical/Surgical Department Director.  JoAnn has 20 years of nursing experience and previously worked for six years as a registered nurse at Medina Regional Hospital.  She lives in Devine with her husband, Kelly, a former Medina County Commissioner.  
 
Gertrude Julot joined the system as the Health Information Management (HIM) Director bringing 12 years of experience to the organization.  HIM is more commonly referred to as the Medical Records department.  She graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s in Health Services Administration and a Master’s in Human Resource Development.  She was previously employed with CHRISTUS Health System.  Gertrude has been married for 12 years and has 3 daughters, Alessa, Ella, and Leila.
