Ian Alexander, MD is an Otolaryngologist, more commonly referred to as an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) specialist. "Dr. Alexander is one of the top sinus surgeons in the country, and a leading authority on sinus dilation. Dr. Alexander founded the National Sinus Institute in 2009, and opened his clinic in Boerne in 2015. He completed his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University, and attended medical school at the University of New Mexico. He did his residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Dr. Alexander's specialty is sinus dilation, which is a minimally invasive treatment option that reshapes the anatomy to open sinus pathways so they can drain properly. The procedure uses a device placed in key places in the nose and sinus, which are then dilated to expand the sinus pathways. It may be a lasting option for patients who have suffered for years with chronic sinus pain and infection.
Dr. Alexander's practice expanded to include a monthly clinic at the Medina Specialty Clinic in August 2016. He says, jokingly, "If you have ears, a nose or a throat, you should come see me." For people with sinus problems, frequent ear infections, ear pain, breathing issues, sleep apnea, headaches, painful tonsils, sore throat and allergies, even COPD, Dr. Alexander can provide help for these conditions. He is a very knowledgeable specialist, and treats patients of all ages. Ms. Shannon Baker, Practice Administrator, states "he's great with kids, he's kind and patient.
