Billie Bell Promoted to Chief Nursing Officer at Medina Healthcare System
Janice Simons, CEO at Medina Healthcare System, recently announced that Ms. Billie Bell has accepted the position of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for the system.  “She has already done a fantastic job as the interim CNO and I am sure she will continue to move the organization forward,” said Ms. Simons.

Ms. Bell began her journey with Medina Healthcare System in 2014 as the Director of Quality.  In 2016, she was promoted to Vice President of Operations.  During her tenure, Medina Regional Hospital received designation as a Top 20 Best Practice in Quality from the National Rural Health Association, ranking the hospital in the top 20 in quality among all critical access hospitals in the United States.  Ms. Bell represents rural healthcare facilities on the National Quality Forum’s Expert Advisory Panel, is a member of the Texas Hospital Association’s 2017 Leadership Fellows Class, and is an accomplished speaker, representing the hospital at the Texas Hospital Association, the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals, and other healthcare venues.  She serves on many community boards on behalf of the Medina Healthcare System.  Billie is a registered nurse and is completing graduate studies for an MBA with a specialization in healthcare management.   She and her husband, Brian, live north of Hondo with their son, Chris.

“I believe Billie, in this new role, will be a fantastic asset to our team, and I believe the entire Medina Healthcare System family is happy to see her advance in this position,” said Ms. Simons.
